Have you received the Holy Spirit when you believed?” was the key question from our study this morning. There’s a puzzle in the way that Luke records the story for us, in that we don’t know if the twelve men here are Christians or not. Paul doesn’t seem to ask that question anyway, he wants to know what their experience has been with the Holy Spirit.
In Matthew 3, we are introduced to John the Baptist, the forerunner of King Jesus. He had a simple and straightforward message, "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand." John had an enormous impact on the population and many people responded by being baptized in the Jordan and confessing their sins. In this Bible Study, we looked at what repentance is and what baptism is. We also considered the import of the kingdom of heaven and the times that John the Baptist lived in.
